In this class, students will:

Speak in extended turns using real-life examples

Practice narrating past decisions clearly and confidently

Use natural spoken expressions and phrasal verbs

Ask follow-up questions to deepen conversation

Compare personal experiences with cultural perspectives

Students already have the grammar and vocabulary to discuss past experiences, hypothetical situations, and opinions — the goal is fluency, clarity, and natural rhythm, not perfection.

Session Activities

1: Do you usually follow your instincts, or do you think things through carefully before deciding?

2: What’s a small risk you’ve taken recently?

3: Do you think you’re more cautious or more adventurous than most people you know?

1: Tell us about a time you almost backed out of something but decided to go through with it. What happened?

2: What’s the biggest decision you’ve made in the last five years? How did you make up your mind?

3: Have you ever taken a risk that didn’t pay off? What did you learn from it?

4: Is there something you’ve been putting off because it feels risky?

5: Do you believe people regret the risks they take — or the ones they avoid?

6: In your culture, are people generally encouraged to play it safe or take chances?

7: How does social media influence the way people think about “success” and risk-taking?

8: Do you think younger generations are more willing to take risks than older generations? Why or why not?

9: In your country, what’s considered a “safe” career path? Has that changed over time?
